Madame Barbell (Iwona Płotka)

She is a Germanist and visual artist by profession, but a passionate blogger and editor-in-chief of the German language magazine Deutsch Aktuell. Since she always has a great thirst for knowledge, on average she enrolls in a course every two months. Recently she became a jumping fitness trainer, now she is realizing more crazy plans… She has intellectual ADHD.

She looks like a quiet girl, but it’s just an appearance… In reality, she is full of energy and has a head full of crazy ideas. There are many contradictions in her – one time she is chatty, another time silent…

Friendship is what she values most. In interpersonal relationships, she is faithful and devoted and expects the same from others. She dreams of a world in which everyone treats each other politely and honestly…

She can’t stand competition, hypocrisy, and bragging.

She is head over heels in love with the German-speaking area, the USA, and Ukraine. She dreams of moving to Vienna or New York.

She summons up her vitality from God, sport, reading, and writing. Mostly you can see her with a barbell or with a kettlebell in her hand – she feels better at the gym than at home… She uses either the car nor public transport – she reaches all places by bicycle. Weather conditions, seasons and clothes are irrelevant to her.

She loves animals, especially cats, birds, rabbits and… squirrels. She also has a great weakness for flowers. Her favorites are lilies of the valley, peonies and especially lilac. She wants it to bloom all year round…

She can’t stand the Polish weather, so she threatens everyone around her every day that she’s going to California. But no one takes their threats seriously. Even she herself…
